Power utility workers repairing lines in Utuado, Puerto Rico. Utuado was one of the towns hardest hit by the storm. As a rain collection basin in the center of the island the heavy rains decimated the area knocking out bridges, creating landslides and leaving the crucial power infrastructure in shambles. Power in Puerto Rico is generated in the south of the island and must cross the mountainous center of the island before reaching towns and cities on the north side of the island. Crews in Ututado are working mostly on repairing the transmission lines that bring power to the substations for distribution to individual people.
